Your adventure begins as you board an overnight train from Mumbai or Pune towards Delhi. Sit back, relax, enjoy your favorite playlist, snacks, and conversations as you gear up for an unforgettable journey.

Train Information:

  • Train details will be shared at the time of booking.
  • Train tickets will be booked based on seat availability. We generally book:
    • BDTS Yuva Express (3E)
    • Rajdhani Express (3AC)
  • For travelers joining from Pune, we will arrange either a train or bus to connect with the main group, depending on train timings and seat availability.
  • Guests opting for Sleeper Class (Non-AC) will generally be booked on Paschim Express, subject to availability.
  • Please confirm your preferred train option at the time of booking. We will check live availability and suggest the best available option.
  • You are also welcome to book your own train tickets as per the recommended trains and join the group at the designated boarding point.

Note: Train allotment is subject to seat availability at the time of booking. Early booking is highly recommended to secure your preferred train and class. 

Day 2

Arrival in Delhi & Journey to Shimla

Wake up to the vibrant energy of Delhi as your Himalayan adventure officially begins. After a quick freshen-up and breakfast, board your comfortable Tempo Traveller and set off on a scenic drive towards Shimla.

En route, we'll make a stop at the famous Murthal Dhabas, known across North India for their delicious buttery parathas and authentic Punjabi cuisine. Enjoy a hearty lunch before continuing your journey into the mountains.

As the drive progresses, witness the landscape gradually transform from bustling city roads to winding mountain highways lined with lush pine forests and breathtaking valley views.

By late evening, we'll arrive in Shimla. Check in to your hotel, enjoy a warm dinner, and relax after the day's journey.

Note: We have intentionally included an overnight stay in Shimla to provide better acclimatization and avoid an excessively long travel day. This allows you to rest comfortably and wake up refreshed, fully prepared for the incredible Spiti Valley adventure that begins from the next day.

Next, we’ll halt at Khab, where the Spiti and Sutlej Rivers merge in a breathtaking spectacle. Upon reaching Nako, visit the serene Nako Lake, and hike up to Nako Viewpoint to capture panoramic shots of the valley.

Nako to Kaza

Next, we’ll visit the Tabo Monastery, a UNESCO Heritage Site over 1,000 years old, known for its ancient murals and spiritual ambiance.

After Tabo we visit Dhankar Monastery 

By the evening, we’ll reach Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. After checking in, explore the charming local streets..

We’ll explore Key Monastery, perched on a hilltop with breathtaking valley views.

Our next stop is Hikkim, where you can send a postcard from the world’s highest post office! Moving ahead, we’ll visit Komic, one of the highest inhabited villages, and finally, Langza, famous for its giant Buddha statue and ancient fossils.

Return to Kaza by evening and enjoy a warm dinner before relaxing in the crisp mountain air.

Begin your scenic drive back towards Manali, traversing rugged mountain roads, dramatic valleys, and crystal-clear streams. Along the way, we'll make stops at Batal and Chhatru, two iconic Himalayan hamlets renowned for their breathtaking views and untouched natural beauty.

Continue the journey through the engineering marvel of the Atal Tunnel, one of the world's longest high-altitude road tunnels, before arriving in Manali by late afternoon.

The evening is free for you to explore at your own pace. Wander through the charming streets of Old Manali, shop for local souvenirs, visit cozy cafés, or simply relax and soak in the mountain vibes after an unforgettable Spiti expedition.

Optional Return: Travelers who do not wish to extend their stay in Manali can board an overnight Volvo bus to Delhi on the same evening. Guests opting for the extended itinerary will enjoy another comfortable night in Manali.

Important Note:
Manali sightseeing is planned as a self-exploration day. Due to traffic restrictions and narrow roads, the Tempo Traveller cannot access most sightseeing locations within the town. Guests can conveniently rent a bike, scooter, or local taxi to explore the attractions at their own pace. Our Tour Manager will provide complete guidance on places to visit, suggested routes, rental options, and timings to help you make the most of your day.

By evening, assemble at the designated boarding point and begin your overnight journey to Delhi by Volvo bus or private vehicle (as per your selected package).

From Kashmiri Gate, guests will proceed to their respective railway station or airport to board their onward journey home. You can reach your departure point conveniently by Delhi Metro, auto-rickshaw, or cab at your own expense.

Important Travel Information:

We book return train tickets from Delhi based on seat availability at the time of booking. Since multiple trains operate from Delhi to Mumbai/Pune, the train allotted may vary depending on availability.

Guests are also free to book their own train or flight tickets if they prefer a specific schedule.

Local transportation from Kashmiri Gate to your railway station or airport is not included in the package and must be arranged by the guest.

Cancellation Policy

  • In case of cancellation from the organiser’s end (due to Lockdown, Or any Natural calamities including,snowstorms, thunderstorms, floods, landslides, earthquakes, bad weather or unexpected political unrest, terrorism activity, curfews, riots, or government orders), We will Refund the amount in 30 Days

  • In case a client wishes to change the trek date, Maharashtra Desha Adventure reserves the right to do so, provided the request is made 30 daysprior to the initial departure date.
  • Booking amount is Non-Refundable.
  • Refunds will be made within 7-14 working days from the date of cancellation 
  • The refund amount will be calculated from the total fee, in case any partial payment has been made
  • No refund is applicable on cancellation if Advance Amount is Paid to Book the Trek.Cancellation charges are based on the total trek fee, irrespective of the amount paid either full or partial. 
  • If the cancellation is from the client’s end at any point of time post the.registration refund will be provided as per the details mentioned below:-

  • Booking Strategy: Tickets are booked based on maximum confirmation probability, depending on the remaining days until departure.

  • 2. Confirmation Disclaimer:

  • No Guarantee: The tool does not guarantee 100% confirmation for waitlisted and RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) tickets.

  • Limited Control: Maharashtra Desha Adventure does not control ticket confirmations; it is managed by IRCTC, a government body.

  • RAC Tickets: There is a possibility of receiving a RAC (half-seat) ticket instead of a confirmed seat. Maharashtra Desha Adventure is not responsible for the lack of confirmed tickets.

  • 3. Train Cancellations and Route Changes:

  • Responsibility: If a train is cancelled or the route changes, Maharashtra Desha Adventure will not be held responsible.

  • Alternate Solutions: Alternative solutions will be provided at an additional cost.

  • Advance Booking: To increase the likelihood of getting a confirmed seat, book your trip at least 45 to 60 days in advance.

  • Seasonal Availability: Seat availability varies by season. Peak festive and tourist seasons may reduce the chances of getting confirmed seats due to limited train options.

  • 5. Alternate Train Options:

  • Agent Assistance: Our agents may contact you with alternate train options that have higher confirmation probabilities. These alternatives may involve a fare difference, which you will need to cover if you choose to upgrade.

  • Predictability Tool Limitations: Occasionally, our predictability tool may fail, resulting in an RAC seat upon chart preparation. Maharashtra Desha Adventure is not responsible for providing full seats or issuing refunds in such cases.

  • Higher Fares: Premium trains like Rajdhani and Duronto have fares approximately 50% higher than regular trains.

  • Higher Confirmation Rates: These trains offer the highest probability of ticket confirmation and are recommended for a better travel experience.

  • 7. Mid-Trip Changes:

  • Flight Options: If you decide to switch to flight travel during your trip, notify us at least 36 hours in advance for a hassle-free cancellation of train tickets.

  • Cancellation Policy: Last-minute cancellations are not always possible due to fixed agent schedules and other factors.

Accommodation & Sharing Policy

  1. Shared accommodation is allocated on a gender-wise basis and is subject to final batch composition and room availability.

  2. The sharing category selected during booking represents a preferred accommodation arrangement and is not an absolute guarantee, unless covered under the provisions mentioned below.

  3. Maharashtra Desha will make every reasonable effort to honour the selected sharing preference and provide the most suitable accommodation arrangement for all travellers.

  4. Travellers booking as a group will be accommodated together to the maximum extent possible. However, mixed-gender groups may be divided into separate gender-wise rooms in accordance with the accommodation policy.

  5. Travellers booking Double Sharing (2 persons) will be provided accommodation together as per their booking, irrespective of whether the occupants are male-male, female-female, or male-female. No Exclusive Group Accommodation charges shall apply in such cases.

  6. Groups wishing to guarantee accommodation exclusively within their own group may opt for the "Exclusive Group Accommodation" facility by paying an additional charge of ₹500 per group.

  7. Exclusive Group Accommodation is applicable only when the total number of travellers exactly matches the selected sharing category. For example:
    • 3 travellers booking Triple Sharing
    • 4 travellers booking Quad Sharing
    • 2 travellers booking Double Sharing (No additional charge applicable)

  8. Solo travellers and groups whose total number of participants does not exactly match the selected sharing category (including but not limited to 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 or other combinations in Triple/Quad sharing) agree to accept the final accommodation arrangement determined by Maharashtra Desha.

  9. In such cases, accommodation may be revised to double, triple, quad, or any other suitable sharing configuration based on final batch composition, gender-wise allocation, and operational requirements.

  10. If the revised accommodation results in an increase in package cost, the applicable difference in sharing charges shall be payable by the traveller as per the package rates. Maharashtra Desha will always try its best to minimise such adjustments.

  11. Final accommodation allocation will be communicated as per the following schedule:
    • For long-duration trips (more than 4 nights), final room allocation will be shared approximately 10 days prior to departure.
    • For short-duration trips (4 nights or less), final room allocation will be shared approximately 2 days prior to departure.

  12. No objections, refunds, discounts, or compensation shall be applicable solely due to accommodation adjustments made in accordance with this policy.

  13. By confirming the booking, travellers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted this Accommodation & Sharing Policy in full.
